Why in the heck does anyone care what's on the advertising? I have no qualms about buying anything in the store. To get embarrased about buying femine products is rather juvenile.

So, when a Mini Cooper gets hit, is there any oozy yellow juice that squirts out from under the crunchy shell? ;-)

Do you express your emotions?
by greendawn indo you find it easy to express your emotions or do you tend to lock them up and conceal them?
women are of course better than men in venting their emotions even if by crying something that men are not supposed to do except under extreme circumstances that create great emotional upheaval eg death of spouse.
southern europeans are also better at expressing emotion than northern europeans.

Simon and Garfunkel
A winters day
In a deep and dark december;
I am alone,
Gazing from my window to the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow.
I am a rock,
I am an island.
Ive built walls,
A fortress deep and mighty,
That none may penetrate.
I have no need of friendship; friendship causes pain.
Its laughter and its loving I disdain.
I am a rock,
I am an island.
Dont talk of love,
But Ive heard the words before;
Its sleeping in my memory.
I wont disturb the slumber of feelings that have died.
If I never loved I never would have cried.
I am a rock,
I am an island.
I have my books
And my poetry to protect me;
I am shielded in my armor,
Hiding in my room, safe within my womb.
I touch no one and no one touches me.
I am a rock,
I am an island.
And a rock feels no pain;
And an island never cries.

Don't Like Your Avatar, Don't Like You!
by bigmouth insome time ago i attracted some really agressive responses that surprised me because i had no intention of offending so i had to learn a lot about how to word things on this forum, smiley faces etc so others would know i was pulling their leg, but i oftened wondered if a posters nickname or avatar puts you off instantly??
you know, first impressions.
i would think someone like satanus or mouthy would be intimidating but miss peaches was as nice as pie and this thinking might reflect how i would reply.

My first impression of "John Doe" after seeing his avatar was.... "hey look everybody, it's Jethro from the 'Beverly Hillbillies' on steroids!" but after reading a couple of his posts, my impression is..... "hey look everybody, it's Jethro from the 'Beverly Hillbillies' on steroids!"...lol
I didn't know they had hillbillies in Hong Kong! lol :-)

Be Honest: Did You ACTUALLY Report Accurate Field Service Time?
by minimus ini bet most people did not.
i think nearly everyone counted time spent on breaks.
or sitting in the car for an hour and a half while the elders did a "shepherding" call.

John, I take it that you were a fine example too.
I've not been a fine example of much in my life, aside from my honesty, perhaps. I usually only had 1 to 2 hours per month, and the most ever was 9 if I recall. ;-)

Yes. To lie about field service time would have completely undermined the reason I was there in the first place. And no, I don't think I was pathetic for being honest.

Sure, the initial impression is formed by avatar, but words quickly gain ascendancy of the mental image in my head.

"A rich lady from California who was a tree hugger and an anti-hunter purchased a piece of timber land in Oregon. There was a large tree on one of the highest points in the tract. She wanted to get a good view of her land so she started to climb the big tree. As she neared the top she encountered a spotted owl that attacked her. In her haste to escape the lady slid down the tree to the ground and got many splinters in her private parts. In considerable pain, she hurried to the nearest country doctor. Being a hunter himself, the doctor listened to her story with great patience and then told her to go into the examining room and he would see if he could help her. She sat and waited for three hours before the doctor reappeared. The angry lady demanded, "What took you so long?
He smiled and then told her, "Well, I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber from a recreational area and I'm sorry, they all turned me down.""

How do you stop hating?
by ThomasCovenant ini'm finding it very difficult not to hate those still in.. my wife says i hate the religion but shouldn't hate the individuals.. i think she's correct but it's getting more and more difficult not to show my feelings of anger and hatred.. the thing is i was one of them for 30 years so i should have more patience, respect and sympathy.. i think they fall into two camps.
1 deluded.
2 self deluded.

I have a hard time understanding how someone can hate people for their religious beliefs.
